Davidson fire chief awarded Order of the Long Leaf Pine

Jan. 20. Retired Davidson Fire Chief Reuben “Bo” Fitzgerald has been awarded The Order of the Long Leaf Pine. The prestigious award recognizes individuals for service to the state and their communities that is above and beyond the call of duty.

He retired from the Davidson Fire Department in November after 23 years of service. The town surprised him with a COVID-19 compliant parade through the Davidson College campus.
