Davidson donates fire engine

Aug. 28. Davidson is donating a fire engine to the Millers Ferry Fire Department, located just outside of Salisbury.

The Millers Ferry Fire Department lost all three of its frontline fire engines from its primary fire station when a tractor trailer drove through an accident scene on I-85, striking the three trucks on Aug. 11.

The Town of Davidson has a 1992 fire engine, which has been slated for surplus for a little over one year, with minimal resale value.

The Town Board unanimously approved donating the 1992 Pierce Lance Pumper Fire Truck to the Millers Ferry Fire Department.
