COVID update Nov. 15: Positivity rate up; new cases, hospitalizations down

Nov. 15. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,361 new cases of the coronavirus statewide. The statewide positive test rate climbed to 6.2 percent, meanwhile Mecklenburg County’s positivity rate is coming in at 5.4 percent over the past 14 days.

Hospitalizations

Today’s NCDHHS report put statewide hospitalizations at 1,039, down from 1,082 on Friday.

Deaths

The NCDHHS today reported 26 new COVID-related deaths statewide between Friday’s report and today’s.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 488 new cases reported between Friday and today, as well as two new deaths

North Mecklenburg (change from Friday)

• Cornelius: 11 new cases, 4,066 cumulative total, 31 deaths cumulative total.

• Davidson: 6 new cases, 2,369 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.

• Huntersville: 20 new cases, 8,926 cumulative total, 74 deaths cumulative total.

    Do we still have a mask mandate?
    Inside retail, very few are wearing mask!

      It could go away, based on new guidelines from the county, if the positive test rate remains below 5 percent for 7 days
