July 12. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services Monday reported 562 new COVID-19 cases statewide, as well as 16 new deaths attributable to the coronavirus. Positive testing climbed from 3.1 percent Friday, to 4.5 percent statewide as of noon today.

COVID hospitalizations rose to 448 today, from 418 in Friday’s report.

Mecklenburg County

In Mecklenburg County, there were 221 new coronavirus cases over the weekend, and one new COVID-related death.

North Mecklenburg (change from Friday to today)

Cornelius: 7 new cases, 2,917 cumulative; 26 deaths total.

Davidson: 8 new cases, 1,723 cumulative; 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 12 new cases 6,140 cumulative; 54 deaths total.
