Youth Orchestra performs Tuesday night

The Cornelius Youth Orchestras will be performing a free Winter Concert featuring “Memory” from the Broadway musical Cats and some lively classical pieces from Strauss, Bach and Beethoven Tuesday, March 10 in the Bailey Middle School Gym. This is a great opportunity to bring your children to a performance by their peers and an opportunity for them to talk with youth musicians about music and performance. It is also an opportunity to spark your child’s interest in musical performance. Bring your whole family and join us for this fun and spirted musical event. Refreshments will be served after the concert. The program begins at 7 p.m.

CYO is accepting youth musicians for the spring 2015 concert in May and for next fall’s program. CYO offers a fun and exciting Full Orchestra Program that will enhance your youth’s musical education with challenging compositions in a full orchestra setting. CYO is accepting new youth musicians from 1st – 12th grade who play string, brass, woodwind, piano or percussion instruments. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays from 6:30pm – 8:30pm, at Bailey Road Recreation Center (Bailey Middle School). Our Director William “Bill” Haraden will be instructing the Orchestra in all genres of music education including classical, Broadway, movie themes, pop and jazz. CYO’s low program fee includes all music and materials, music instruction, concerts, and receptions. CYO offers financial aid to all those in need. Come join the fun – join us for a FREE rehearsal!
