Cornelius Today photo contest open til Sept. 15

Cornelius Today is holding an amateur photography contest between now and Sept. 15. Winning entries must focus on Cornelius scenes and be suitable for the October cover of Cornelius Today.

First prize is a $100 gift certificate from 131 Main. There will also be two second prizes of $75 gift certificates from 131 Main as well as three third-place/$50 gift certificates from 131 Main.

The first prize photo will appear on the cover of Cornelius Today in October. The five other prize winners will be part of a photo layout in the October edition.

The judges are Joe Douglas, the owner of 131 Main, and Deborah Young, owner of Deborah Young Studio in Cornelius, along with the editors and designers at Cornelius Today.

Up to two high resolution color photos (pdf format) should be sent via email to production.todaypubs@gmail.com with “Photo Contest” in the subject line.  Do not include any embedded images or any images that require a download from a third party source (aka Dropbox). Attachments only.  Include your name, age and street or neighborhood. Cornelius residents and their children, including college students who do not live at home, are encouraged to participate.

*Photos must be original, not copyrighted and not already published. By entering, winning photos are released for use by Cornelius Today in print, online and on social media.
