Old Statesville Road rezoning meeting July 22

July 16. By Dave Vieser. Matt Gallagher of Blue Heel Development has filed a rezoning application with the town for permission to build 31 single-family homes on an 8.25 acres at 19311 Old Statesville Road. The lot, currently occupied by one single-family home runs westward from Highway 115, a short distance south of Washam Potts Road. The site is currently zoned Neighborhood Residential, and Gallagher seeks Conditional Zoning.

A community meeting for Gallagher to explain the details of his project will be held 6 pm Tuesday July 22 at Town Hall.

The property is owned by the Magee James Davis Trust of Winston Salem, with an assessed value of $438,000.

Blue Heel, built 27 townhomes several years ago on vacant land off Washam Potts Road not far from Highway115.
Following the community meeting, the proposal will be presented to the Town Board at their Monday August 4 meeting, for informational purposes only. While the public is welcome to attend and make comments,no decisions will be made that evening.

Both meetings will be held at Town Hall, and the Town Board meeting will also be live streamed on the town web site: www.cornelius.org

  1. That’s ridiculous. Need at min 1/4 acre lots and then have a small park walkways etc. 20 homes probably would be the right fit.
