Commissioner Bruce Trimbur announces move

featured_trimburJuly 20. Cornelius Town Commissioner Bruce Trimbur, who was appointed to the board to fill a vacancy left by John Bradford, announced Monday that he and his wife will be moving away from Cornelius.  Trimbur is the lone sitting commissioner to not file to run this fall. He issued this statement to the media:

“In June/May of this year I had several business opportunities in the Hilton Head/Savannah area which have become available. While my wife and I love Cornelius, we had planned to retire there in the distant future. These job opportunities accelerated the time frame for our move. After discussing the issue with my family, we decided that it would be in the best interests of our family to pursue these opportunities and unfortunately leave Cornelius. We will not be leaving Cornelius until some time in January 2016 which will allow me to fulfill my commitment to our community and complete my term as a commissioner for the Town of Cornelius. However, I could not in good faith seek a full term this November. It has been a privilege and honor to serve the Town of Cornelius. I look forward to watching the results for the upcoming election and hope all candidates run a respectful positive campaign keeping Cornelius a special place to live, work, and raise a family.”
