Nov. 6. Get ready for Operation Wedding Gown Nov. 17-18. Brides Across America will give literally thousands of wedding gowns to military couples in need. Designers will vary and brides should register early—more than 14,000 gowns have been donated through Brides Across America over the years. Of course, military couples can find it difficult to plan a fairy tale wedding due to deployment, injury and even economic hardship.

Classic Bride & Formals, at 20910 Catawba Ave. is participating.  “Our continued efforts as an organization are to bring awareness to our communities.  My goal is to make sure we don’t forget all the servicemen and women overseas fighting for our freedom,” said Brides Across America founder Heidi Janson.

Either the bride or their fiancé must serve in the military. For more info or to pre-register, go to www.bridesacrossamerica.com  Brides must bring proper identification along with deployment papers to be presented the day of the event.

A national nonprofit, BridesAcrossAmerica has given weddings and wedding gowns to thousands of military couples since its inception in 2008. Operation Wedding Gown has also been featured in People magazine and on the Steve Harvey Show.
