The opening reception for the Cornelius Today Citizens Photo Exhibit will be held 6-8 pm Thursday Nov. 14 at the Truliant Federal Credit Union branch in Antiquity.

More than two dozen photos taken by Cornelius residents will be on display in the lobby. The amateur photography contest focuses on Cornelius scenes, with a wide range of subject matter.

The judges were professional photographer Deborah Young and restaurateur Joe Douglas of 131 Main, as well as staff from Cornelius Today.

The first place winner was Christopher Barrows, whose photo was on the cover of the October edition. Other top winners were Daniel Ahlers and Carson Page, who shared second-place honors, and third-place winners Jon Beyerle, Yolanda Mason and Michael Prather.

Craig Frederick’s photo “Making Waves” was on the cover of the November edition.

There is no cost to attend the reception. The Top 6 winners will receive gift certificates to 131 Main.
