Church seeks zoning amendment in Davidson

Lake Forest  Church – Davidson is seeking a  zoning change  for about 4 acres  on South Main Street near the Cornelius boundary  to build a religious institution and mixed-use building.

The parcel is currently zoned Village Edge and Village Infill Planning Areas and the church seeks a Conditional Planning Area Map Amendment.

The Davidson Planning Board will receive an update July 27 and  a public hearing will be scheduled for the Aug.25  Davidson Board of Commissioners regular meeting.

Lake Forest Church operates at The Cotton Mill, 209 Delburg St. Unit 136 D in Davidson and has  campuses  at Gilead Road in Huntersville and St. James Church Road  in Denver. In September, the church launched a Spanish-speaking church at the Huntington Green Resource Center in Huntersville.
