Flags at half-staff until sunset May 30

May 27. US and North Carolina flags at state facilities are at half-staff until sunset on Sunday, May 30 in honor of the victims of the mass shooting in San Jose. Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions may fly flags at half-staff as well.

YMCA limits beach hours due to lifeguard shortage

May 26. The Lake Norman YMCA’s beach will be open this summer, but with limited hours due to the lifeguard shortage. Town of Davidson offices will close, but waste pick-up is on for Memorial Day

May 26. The Town of Davidson offices will close Monday, May 31, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Offices will re-open Tuesday, June 1. Waste Pro Services will operate on a regular pick-up schedule for both garbage and recycling collection. In Cornelius, WastePro will operate on a one-day delay next week.

May 25. Waste pick-up will be delayed one day next week because of the Memorial Day holiday. Monday’s pick-up will be Tuesday, and so on. Town Hall will also be closed in observation of Memorial Day.
