Cabinet maker joins Carvana at The Grounds at Concord

April 13. A Chinese cabinet maker will join Carvana on the old Philip Morris site in Concord. GoldenHome International’s North American headquarters will bring 257 jobs to the region.

The NC Department of Commerce announced $3.2 million in incentives from the state, Cabarrus County and the city. GoldenHome makes high-end kitchen cabinets and customized furnishings.

The jobs will pay an average salary of $42,593 per year, according to state officials. The project is expected to be complete in 2025.

Last fall Carvana announced it would bring 304 jobs with an average wage of $40,500 annually over the next three years.

At one time, there were as many as 2,500 workers at the Philip Morris plant. When it closed more than 1,000 people lost their jobs.
