Feb. 1. Cornelius Police were blocking access to the Bank of America branch on West Catawba this morning, but it looks like there wasn’t a robbery. Police on the scene said someone may have attempted to gain access to the inside of the bank through the teller window, before going to the front of the bank and smashing the glass door, where the perpetrator could access the interior ATM. Whoever it was didn’t get inside the bank. It’s unclear when it all happened, but  a Crime Scene Investigation van was still out front at 9:30 a.m.
