June 1. Atrium Health broke ground yesterday for its newest hospital, Atrium Health Lake Norman. The 170,000 square-foot facility located on much of the old Cooke family farm between I-77 and Hwy 21, means greater access to health care in North Mecklenburg. The new hospital is expected to open its doors in 2025 with approximately 280 new jobs.
