In a post on Facebook, CMS Board member Rhonda Cheek said Bailey Middle was on lock down for security purposes.

All students are safe, Cheek said.

Cheek said “the professionals are working through this and all students are safe.”

Update 3;15 pm: Mayor Washam confirmed it was a bomb threat at Hough.

Cornelius Police said parents will be directed to the student parking lot to pick up their students.

Update 2:45 pm from CMS Board Member Cheek: “ALL CLEAR. Buses are rolling, seniors drivers dismissed first, parents will directed to senior lot for car pool pick up.”

Traffic issues

From a parent: This is likely to create a “cascading effect” for bus transportation at multiple schools in North Meck.
