May 31. Lt. Col Gary Dolan addressed a crowd of about 200 at the Memorial Day ceremony behind Town Hall Monday morning. Veterans young and old came to honor those who lost their lives in battle. American Legion Post 86 Commander Mike Puckett led the service. Rev. David Judge of First Baptist Church of Cornelius started the event with prayer. A 21-gun salute brought everyone to attention, while the traditional playing of “Taps” brought tears to many.
