Hough Hosts Garinger on Homecoming Weekend

By Ryan Moxon — The undefeated Hough football team returns from its bye week tonight to host 2-4 Garinger on Homecoming weekend.

The top-ranked team in the state has put up impressive numbers through the first six games of the regular season, averaging 140 yards rushing per game behind running backs Jamarion Morrison (71 yards) and Kaiden Anderson (27 yards), and quarterback Ethan Royal (33 yards).

Royal is averaging 180 yards passing per game, led by receivers Jahmere Anderson (53 yards), Lincoln Brim and Mason Pearsall-Brown (40 yards each).

The offense is averaging 36 points per game this season, including 46 points over the last three games.

On defense, linebacker Ryan Peterson leads the team with an average of six tackles per game, while safety Michael Griffin Jr. has added eight total sacks.

The Hough defense has given up just 33 total points this season and has allowed no scores in its last two games.

Garinger has been held to six points in three games this season and has allowed more than 40 points in four games.

The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Hough. Tickets cost $11 on the GoFan app, and the game is scheduled to livestream on the NFHS Network with a subscription.
