Giving thanks for things to do: November events

Nov. 3. Here’s a look at some exciting things happening in November around Lake Norman. Check event links for any last-minute updates or changes.

Wednesday, Nov. 5 

Bunco

7-9 pm | Nov. 5. Bunco every first Wednesday of the month. Three tiers of prizes. Eleven Lakes Brewing.

Thursday Nov. 6- Sunday, Nov. 16

Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike

See website for schedule. Davidson Community Players present Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, a play that revolves around a gathering of three middle-aged siblings at their country house in Bucks County. A beloved character-driven play. Tickets: $15-$45 (plus NC state taxes and fees). Recommended for ages 13 and up. Cain Center for the Arts.

Saturday, Nov. 8

49th Annual Working Fingers Craft Show

10 am – 4 pm | Nov. 8. Showcasing a wide array of handmade items. Charles Mack Citizen Center, Mooresville.

Davidson Farmers Market

9 am – noon | every Saturday through Thanksgiving. Produce, flowers, meat and baked goods.Rain or shine. No pets. 120 S. Main St., Davidson, next to Town Hall between Main and Jackson streets.

Tuesday, Nov. 11

Veterans Day Program

11 am -1 pm | Nov. 11. The Town of Cornelius and American Legion Post 86 hold an annual Veterans Day Program at the Cornelius Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza and the Cornelius Town Hall lawn each year to honor military veterans and those currently serving in our Armed Forces. Saturday, Nov. 15

Christmas Bazaar

9 am – 2 pm | Nov 15. Come shop with our  vendors, enjoy the bounce house, and don’t miss your chance to win in our raffles throughout the day. Proceeds go directly to providing a memorable Christmas for local children in need. Lake Forest Church-Huntersville.

Lake City’s Christmas Bazaar

9 am – 2 pm | Nov. 15. Lake City Church’s 6th Annual Christmas Bazaar. Vendors will be both inside and outside of the church. Proceeds help fight human trafficking including registration, table fees and silent auction donations. Lake City Church, Mooresville.

Ada Jenkins Center Food Fight

10am – 1pm | Nov. 15. Community event and competition between local restaurants, caterers and home chefs to benefit the Ada Jenkins Center. Tickets for sale online. Ada Jenkins Center.

Friday, Nov. 21

Heart of Rock & Roll: The Authentic tribute to Huey Lewis & The News

7:30 pm | Nov. 21. The group headlines coast to coast bringing Huey Lewis & The News’s infectious blend of rock, pop, blues and soul to audiences of all ages. Pricing from $41.83 to $73.48. Cain Center for the Arts.

Saturday, Nov. 22

Mooresville Fine Arts Festival

10 am – 5 pm | Nov. 22. Presented by Mooresville Arts. Local and regional selected artists will be showcasing and selling their original fine art. Demonstrations and musical guests. Charles Mack Citizen Center, Mooresville.

Mike Super: Magic + Illusion

3 and 7:30 pm | Nov. 22. Mike continually delivers new magic experiences, pushing the art to places it’s never been pushed.  This show features some never before seen magic, along with a few new twists on some old favorites. Pricing from $41.68 to $83.38. Cain Center for the Arts.

AmeriCarna LIVE

9 am – 3 pm | Nov. 22. 13th annual AmeriCarna LIVE hosted by Ray Evernham. Early bird registration is $25 and available through 11:59 p.m. on October 31. After that, car registration is $30. Spectator tickets are $5 (kids 10 and under are free). Trane Technologies North American Corporate Headquarters in Davidson.

Thursday, Nov. 27

Lake Norman Turkey Trot

7:30 am | Nov. 27. Half marathon, 10 K and 5K. Register here. LIFE Fellowship, Cornelius.

Saturday, Nov. 29

14th Annual Light Up Cornelius

4-7 pm | Nov. 29. Annual tree lighting. Enjoy community group performances, children’s activities, a model train display, food and drink, s’mores and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Outside Cain Center for the Arts.

Saturday, Nov. 29 – Sunday, Nov. 30

4th Annual Christmas Extravaganza

10 am – 4 pm | Nov. 29- 30. Indoor Christmas shopping event featuring small business. $7 admission. Free parking.   Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, Concord.
