Weekly Weather: Freezing temps and sunny
Jan. 26 – There’s a tree shading the road at the end of the street that serves as an early indicator of when CMS will reopen schools after a winter storm. Until it’s warm and sunny long enough to dry that large patch of pavement, officials generally keep schools closed because of the risk of overnight refreezing. Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 37. Light west wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Tuesday night mostly clear, with a low around 18. West southwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 39. Calm wind becoming west southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Wednesday night mostly clear, with a low around 18.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. Thursday night partly cloudy, with a low around 19.
Weekend: Sunday and cold with highs in the 30s and lows in the teens.
