Weekend Weather: Hot one today, cooler temps on the way

August 1. We’re not exactly readers of the Farmer’s Almanac, and there is no real scientific evidence to support this belief, but it sure feels like temperatures tend to ease around these parts come August.

Either that or we’re just used to the heat by now. After another hot one today, we’ll finally get a break in temperatures this weekend. Feels like football season is around the corner.

Friday: Chance of showers, with afternoon thunderstorms possible. Increasing clouds, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 101. Light north northeast wind. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Tonight showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm with a low around 68.

Saturday: Highs near 80 with a 30 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Northeast wind around 9 mph. Saturday night chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Sunday Night partly cloudy, with a low around 62.

Next week: Temperatures look to stay mostly in the 80s.

The Weekend Weather report comes to us from theĀ National Weather Service.
