Weather: Break from the heat comes with increased rain chances

Aug. 4. Morning coffee on back porch hit differently this morning with the cool temps. Rain and cooler temperatures stay with us throughout most of the week with a warming expected by Friday. Irrigation bills should finally get a much needed break this week.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 82. East northeast wind around 6 mph. Monday night chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Light northeast wind. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tuesday: 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. East northeast wind 5 to 7 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Tuesday night a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65.
