Visit Lake Norman summer photo contest opens today

Aug. 1. Visit Lake Norman’s annual photo contest opens today. Entrants can submit their favorite photo on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #CaptureLKN, or upload an image directly to the Visit Lake Norman website.

Neal Ontko of Vineyard Point in Cornelius won the 2024 contest with a marina sunset photo titled Captivating Skies.

The contest is open to any photographer, amateur or professional, age 18 or older. Three winners will be selected. Prizes include a $200 Visa gift card and an LKN sweatshirt for the best photo.

Entry requirements:

• Submit a completed photo contest entry form or post using #CaptureLKN on social media. Contact information will be requested if a winner is selected via social channels.

• All photos must be taken in the Lake Norman area.

• Entries must be original and submitted by the photographer.

• The deadline to enter is Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025.

• Any recognizable individuals in a photo must have given permission to be photographed and entered in the contest.

• Entries must portray the Lake Norman area in a positive light.
