UiC needs volunteers on Saturday for voter registration

May 16. Unity in Community will have a table at the Cornelius-Smithville Jazz Festival on Saturday, May 20, and will be doing voter registration and voter education

In light of the recent NC Supreme Court Rulings, voter education will be particularly important this year, UiC said in a statement.

UiC is looking for volunteers to help staff its table, which will be under a tent, for a 1-hour shift, between 4 pm and 9 pm. The 4 pm shift will be primarily setting up. The 9 pm shift will include breaking down our tent. The festival is at  Smithville Park, 19710 South Ferry St., Cornelius.

Volunteers can sign up for more than one shift.

Given the recent changes in voting laws, UiC will be offering a 30- minute Zoom training on Friday, May 19th – at 10 am, 11 am or 4 pm. Training will also be available at the Jazz Festival. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your shift for training.
