July 28. The Cornelius Planning Department is hosting drop-in events next week at town hall for residents review a draft and provide feedback on the new downtown master plan.
The goal of the master plan is to identify what the town calls “a unified vision” for downtown Cornelius.
“The plan addresses important topics such as a redevelopment plan for the core area and nearby significant properties, land use and transportation recommendations, and arts and branding opportunities,” said the town in an email promoting the events.
The meetings will take place in room 204 at Cornelius Town Hall on the following days and times:
- Monday, August 4 – 9:00am to 1:00pm
- Tuesday, August 5 – 3:00pm to 6:00pm
- Wednesday, August 6 – 9:0a0m-6:00pm
The draft of the master plan is also available online at www.cornelius.org/downtown.
With the amount of e-bikes, it would be great to have more bike lanes (like marked in green so it’s recognizable). It’s so dangerous with these kids riding the full throttle ones among regular traffic or on the sidewalks. Ideally they will change the laws where kids at least need to know basic traffic rules but even with that, it’s better e-bikes stay in bike lanes vs regular traffic.
The town needs to have already ordered a large amount on gaudy neon lights to insure there won’t be a shortage down the road. This will insure a unified vision.
