Town Board will pick fifth commissioner Monday

At their Monday Dec. 15 meeting, Cornelius commissioners are expected to select a new commissioner to replace John Bradford, who was elected to the NC House in November. Monday will mark his final day on the Cornelius Town Board.

Prior to the selection of their new commissioner, the board will formally recognize Bradford for his service to the town.

Those who have been mentioned as a potential commissioner include Bruce Trimbur, who previously served a brief term on the board, and Dr. Mike Miltich, first runner-up in last year’s town board elections. It will take three votes to select a replacement. If there’s a tie, Mayor Chuck Travis will vote.

Also at Monday’s meeting, the board will consider a zoning change requested by Bluestream Partners to develop three four-story multi-family buildings in the Bailey’s Glen subdivision. This plan is an amendment to a 96-unit, three-story building plan approved in 2011

The meeting begins at 7, in Town Hall on Catawba Avenue.
