Based on the 1989 film of the same name, Prancer tells the story of a young girl who recently lost her mother and befriends a reindeer she believes is Prancer, one of Santa’s reindeer. Determined to return him to Santa’s sleigh in time to deliver presents, she discovers the reindeer may not be Santa’s Prancer—but in a surprise turn, her faith is renewed as the Christmas spirit endures.

Among the eleven cast members are Cornelius teens CorLeila McQuaid (playing Mrs. MacFarland, Ms. Fairbain, and Pastor Williams), Ben Underwood (playing a student and friend), and James Vale (playing Herb, the doctor, and Santa).

Prancer runs Dec. 12–14 at Community School of Davidson Art Space in Davidson. Performances are Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 1 and 4 p.m.; and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10–$15 at the door, with discounted advance tickets available online.
