July 27. It’s not “like a heat wave,” as Martha and the Vandellas sang in 1963, it *is a heat wave. Look for highs in the upper 90s if not the low 100s at least into Thursday. The heat dome we’re experiencing doesn’t lend itself to the late afternoon storms which provide some relief from dangerous heat indices.

Tuesday: Sunny, high 99-100.

Wednesday: Ditto.

Thursday: 30 percent chance of showers, high near 96.
