Proceeds from the Run to Remember Friday will benefit the Cornelius 9/11 monument which will include a piece of steel from the World Trade Center. The fun run will begin at 6 pm and the 5K race will begin at 6:30. The race course will start and end at Westmoreland Athletic Complex, on Westmoreland Road, and includes several segments along the McDowell Creek Greenway as it winds through the beautiful trails and around the scenic ponds of Robbins Park.

The 5K race course is challenging, however, and features elevation changes, as well as natural surfaces, gravel and a wooden boardwalk. This family-friendly event is open to most running levels, with race divisions divided into age groups based on age and gender.
