July 1. By Dave Vieser. The plan for the proposed Cornelius History Museum is scheduled for presentation during the Planning Board July 8 meeting at 6:30 pm in Town Hall.
The museum building is the historic Agricultural Building on Cornelius Elementary School campus.
The conversion of the space from a school use to a civic use will require a conditional rezoning, so the discussion that evening will largely be regarding the conditional rezoning approval process, according to Planning Director Rox Burhans.
Also scheduled for review that evening will be a proposal from developer Matt Greco to construct seven commercial flex space buildings totaling 48,000 square feet at 18636 Statesville Road, north of Westmoreland. His plan for the 12.9 acre site also calls for adapting an existing single-family home into an office use, and constructing 17 residential barndominium units.
The meeting will take place at Town Hall on Catawba Avenue, and will also be live streamed on the town website: www.cornelius.org.
What’s not on the agenda? The Sunset Cove venue proposal for Nantz Road. This hearing has been postponed for a minimum of five months at the request of the applicant.
