 Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Dec. 2 

Christmas in Davidson 

6-9 pm. Stroll through Davidson while supporting local business and get into the holiday spirit! There will be different activities each day so check the schedule here.

Dec. 2-9

Davidson Community Players 

Every Christmas Story Ever Told at DCP’s Armour Street Theatre in Davidson. Thursday, Friday and Saturday 8 pm, Sunday 2 pm. All seats are reserved. Tickets are $15-$20 and may be purchased online  or by calling the box office at 704-892-7953.  Masks are required for all performances regardless of vaccination status.

Dec. 3 Cocoa with Santa

Cocoa with Santa 

10 am-noon. Children will enjoy an exciting morning filled with photo opportunities with Santa, holiday arts and crafts, cookies, and cocoa. Event is free, but you must register to attend. Don’t forget to bring your camera. Cain Center for the Arts’ Cornelius Arts Center, 19725 Oak St. Suite 1.

5 pm – 8 pm. Special night of shopping on Fridays. Products available: corn meal, Coarse Southern grits, dips and mixes, organic pig meat from Bost Farms, small gift items, wooden toys, gift baskets, cookbooks, pillows, local honey, candles and more. Christmas in Huntersville

6-9 pm. Downtown Tree Lighting. Artisan vendors, food, and beverages. Santa will be onsite, too. Our traditional children’s rides and activities will be open. Downtown Huntersville.

Dec. 4

39th Annual North Mecklenburg Holiday Parade

1 pm. The parade will begin in Davidson at the intersection of Hwy. 115 and Griffith Street in Davidson, and will end in Cornelius at the intersection of Hwy. 115 and Catawba Avenue.

Christmas in Huntersville

2-8 pm. Artisan vendors, food, and beverages. Santa will be onsite, too. Our traditional children’s rides and activities will be open. Downtown Huntersville.

Christmas in Cornelius 

Noon – 6 pm. Live music, holiday activities for kids, local artisans, food trucks, craft beer. And Santa. Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave. 

Christmas Vespers: A Service of Lessons and Carols 

7 – 9 pm. The traditional candlelight worship service features music provided by the Davidson College Chorale, and scripture readings by campus leaders reflecting upon the hope and promise of Christ’s birth in the Christmas season.

Admission is free, but tickets are required. For tickets, please contact the Union Box Office at 704-894-2135. Online ticket sales are subject to an Etix convenience fee. Santa Claus comes to Davidson 

Santa Claus will be in Davidson for a brief pre-Christmas Eve visit to review his route with the Davidson Fire Department. Santa will transfer from his sleigh to a fire engine for a ride about town on Wednesday, Dec. 8 from about 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (for Town of Davidson locations WEST of the East Rocky River roundabout) and Thursday, Dec.9 from about 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (for Town of Davidson locations EAST of the East Rocky River roundabout). View route maps, they can be found here.

Through Dec. 10

Santa’s Mailbox 

Bring your letter for Santa to the Cornelius Arts Center and send it on an express journey to the North Pole. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope and Santa will write you back. You can also drop off after regular business hours at the outdoor mail intake. Cain Center for the Arts’ Cornelius Arts Center, 19725 Oak St. Suite 1.

Dec. 10-11: Huntersville Half Marathon & Holiday 5K

Huntersville Half Marathon & Holiday 5k 

7 pm Friday. The Huntersville Holiday 5k will start Friday night, while the Huntersville Half Marathon & 10k will begin on Saturday morning at 8 am. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go toward supporting Speed for Need, a non-profit focused on empowering members of the community affected by disability or disease through participation in fitness events.

Dec. 11

Free Christmas Book give-away

10 am – noon. Books for all ages available. Cookies and cocoa to all guests. Point of Grace Lutheran Church, 16214 Statesville Rd., Huntersville.

1-4 pm. Enjoy the winter hue and shapes of the gardens and special holiday decor at Wing Haven’s two historic homes of Eddie and Elizabeth Clarkson at 248 Ridgewood Ave. and Elizabeth Lawrence at 348 Ridgewood Ave., Charlotte. Activate Community Through Theatre (ACT)

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! presented 7 pm Dec. 17; 11 am, 3 pm, 7 pm Dec. 18; and 3 pm, 7 pm Dec. 19.

Dec.  18

3rd Annual LKN Lighted Christmas Boat Parade

This boat parade will run from Blythe Landing to Ramsey Creek Park and end with an appearance by Santa at the Duke Energy Explorium. Don’t forget to bring toys for Little Smiles, a non-profit group that brings toys to the children at the Levine Children’s Hospital. The event is planned to start around sunset and finish at approximately 7 pm.

Christmas Eve services on Dec. 23 at 6 pm, and Dec 24 at 4 pm and 6 pm. The church meets at the Oak Street Mill

Santa at Birkdale Village 

By appointment.  Santa will be at Birkdale Village throughout the season and taking photos at the  North Pole-inspired cottage.

Through Jan. 1

Zootastic Park Christmas Wonderland of Lights

 6 – 9 pm Sunday through Thursday;  6-10 pm Fridays and Saturdays. $10 per person (ages 2 and older). 

Use 448 Pilch Road entrance, Troutman. You will start lining up on the road with the light up arches.

Through  Jan. 2, 2022

Holidays at the Garden 

5 to 9 pm. The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden’s annual holiday event features a topiary display, rolling lights of the Piedmont Prairie and  twinkling cherry trees. Advance tickets for Holidays at the Garden are being sold online.  A limited number of tickets are being sold for various time slots to help control the crowd. CDC protocols will be followed. Food trucks will be available.

Carowinds Winterfest 

An immersive holiday attraction.

Speedway Christmas 

The show is open 6-10 p.m. rain or shine and also features synchronized lights to music on 101.3 FM. Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord.
