Christmas services and more

Updated Dec. 20. The holidays are right around the corner. This event list is updated weekly. Ongoing events are listed at the end.

 Here’s a look at what’s coming up:

Dec. 23

Inclusion Community

7 pm. Christmas Eve Eve Under the Stars, outside the Hut, 21209 Catawba Ave., Cornelius. Close of service by caroling to Old Town Public House. 

Dec. 23-24

Love Lake Norman

Christmas Eve services on Dec. 23 at 6 pm, and Dec. 24 at 4 pm and 6 pm. The church meets at the Oak Street Mill, 19725 Oak St., Cornelius.

Dec. 23

Inclusion Community’s Christmas Eve Eve Under the Stars 

7 pm. Everyone is invited to gather around our campfire for a Lessons and Carols service followed by caroling down to Old Town Public House. Dress warmly and comfortably. The Hut/Cornelius Presbyterian Church,21209 Catawba Ave.  The Hut parking is off of Church Street. 

Dec.24

Inclusion Community’s Contemplative Christmas Eve Service 

7 pm on Zoom (link on website). Everyone is invited to our Contemplative Christmas Eve service on Zoom. This will be a quiet and reflective service of scripture, poetry, and music. Bring your own candle to light at the end of the service.

Dec. 24

Mt. Zion United Methodist Church 

3 and 5 pm. Spontaneous Christmas Pageant, especially for children and families. The children will have the opportunity to participate in the Christmas pageant. The service will conclude with communion and candle lighting.

7 and 11 pm. Christmas Eve Candlelight and Communion service. 19600 Zion Ave., Cornelius.

First Baptist Church 

6 pm. Candlelight Christmas Eve Service. First Baptist Church of Cornelius, 21007 Catawba Ave.

Davidson United Methodist Church 

1, 3, 5, 7, and 11 pm. Christmas Eve services. 223 S. Main St., Davidson.

Inclusion Community

7 pm.Contemplative Christmas Eve. The Hut, 21209 Catawba Ave., Cornelius. Also, Zoom meeting ID: 775 653 882. 

Dec. 25

Davidson United Methodist Church

9 am. Christmas Morning service. 223 S. Main St., Davidson.

Dec. 26

Mt. Zion United Methodist Church 

11 am. Christmas service. 19600 Zion Ave., Cornelius.

Santa at Birkdale Village 

By appointment.  Santa will be at Birkdale Village throughout the season and taking photos at the  North Pole-inspired cottage.

Through Jan. 1: Zootastic Park Christmas Wonderland of Lights

Zootastic Park Christmas Wonderland of Lights

 6 – 9 pm Sunday through Thursday;  6-10 pm Fridays and Saturdays. $10 per person (ages 2 and older). 

Use 448 Pilch Road entrance, Troutman. You will start lining up on the road with the light up arches.

Through  Jan. 2, 2022

Holidays at the Garden 

5 to 9 pm. The Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden’s annual holiday event features a topiary display, rolling lights of the Piedmont Prairie and  twinkling cherry trees. Advance tickets for Holidays at the Garden are being sold online.  A limited number of tickets are being sold for various time slots to help control the crowd. CDC protocols will be followed. Food trucks will be available.

Speedway Christmas 

The show is open 6-10 p.m. rain or shine and also features synchronized lights to music on 101.3 FM. Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord.
