Woof alert: Pawz Too Run is Saturday

slider01The 6th Annual Pawz Too Run will be held Saturday Oct. 8 on the Village Green in downtown Davidson. The event starts with a 3K dog walk at 10 am followed by a parade of rescue dogs and several fun dog contests. Proceeds benefit the local not-for-profit Friends of the Animals, whose goal is to build an animal adoption and education center with a spay/neuter clinic. The building will be located in the Langtree area of Lake Norman, with easy access from I-77 and Exits 31 and 33.

Walkers can sign up online at FriendsoftheAnimals.net or register beginning at 9 am on the day of the event. A community vendor fair from 10 am to 2:30 pm will feature health and wellness for canines and their humans. A few vendor spaces are still available. Following the dog walk, an assortment of fun dog contests will decide best dressed, best eyes, best amateur pet trick, most congenial and most inspiring dogs. Several animal rescue groups will have adoptable dogs on-site.

New cars from event sponsor Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will be on display.

The community is invited to enjoy the acoustical sounds of Maddie and Josh from the Indefinite Band. A Bounce House will keep the kiddies entertained. Come run, walk and browse the varied vendor booths to help ensure a better future for homeless pets. For more information about the event or to register visit www.FriendsoftheAnimals.net
