Aug. 11. By Dave Vieser. Tonight’s Town of Cornelius Planning Board Meeting will begin at 5pm rather than 6:30pm in town hall. The earlier start time will allow the planning department staff to conduct a workshop with board members.

“We don’t have any zoning applications on the agenda for August so we thought this would be an ideal time to discuss some issues with the board members,” said Town Planning Director Rox Burhans. “We’ll conduct the workshop in room 204, from 5-6:30pm, then reconvene at 6:30pm for the regular part of our meeting in the commissioners meeting room.”

The workshop will cover ongoing training on planning board processes and brainstorming future ideas for code amendments.

Both portions of the meeting will be open to the public, but only the 6:30 segment will be live streamed on the town’s website.
