Oct. 25. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported COVID-19 hospitalizations at 1,527, down from more than twice that late last month. The volume of cases in today’s report was 1,183, one-sixth of the new cases reported in mid-September.

Deaths

The NCDHHS also reported 102 new COVID-related deaths statewide between Friday and today. Two were in North Mecklenburg: One in Cornelius and one in Davidson.

Testing

The statewide positivity was at 5.6 percent.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 505 new cases reported over the weekend.

North Mecklenburg (change from Friday)

• Cornelius: 20 new cases, 4,000 cumulative total, 30 deaths cumulative total.

• Davidson: 3 new cases, 2,317 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.

• Huntersville: 26 new cases, 8,722 cumulative total, 75 deaths cumulative total.
