At the Monday Dec. 19 Cornelius Town Board meeting, the county will give a presentation on the 2016 season at the Ramsey Creek Park beach. The public beach opened Memorial Day weekend, creating traffic jams along Nantz Road and West Catawba Avenue, as well as complaints from residents.  Mecklenburg County Parks officials are expected to provide statistics for the swim season, what they have learned, changes made during the first season and offer proposed changes for next year and beyond. Also at Monday’s meeting the commissioners are expected to appoint Dr. Scott Higgins as chairman of the town’s Parks and Recreation Commission (PARC). Higgins has served as a member of the PARC Commission since April of 2015.  The town board meeting begins at 7 pm, in Town Hall on Catawba Avenue.
