Many roads are slick, Public Works will brine main roads this morning

Jan. 22. There’s is plenty of sunshine to help enjoy the snow that fell last night but roads were icy at 8 this morning. It was slick at Jetton and West Catawba, all of Westmoreland, while Hwy. 21 and Main Street were in decent shape. Antiquity is a winter wonderland, Jetton Park is closed to cars and grocery stores are open.

We got more snow than forecasters — and Public Works — were expecting.

Cornelius Public Works crews are going to brine main roads this morning to help the melting process caused by brilliant sunshine—despite the temps below freezing.

Today’s high will only get to about 39 degrees; tonight’s low, 22. Check the weather here.

Public Works will look for icy spots and treat them.

Jetton was all ice at 9 am Saturday
