Loch Norman Highland games cancelled for this year

June 19. Just 10 days ago there was a new date for the Loch Norman Highland Games at Historic Rural Hill—Aug. 15-16—but the games have now been put off until 2021 because of the coronavirus.

Originally scheduled for April, the games have been scheduled for April 17—18, 2021.  Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation will not be allow large gatherings of people until after Labor Day, based on recommendations of the CDC and other state agencies.

The Loch Norman Highland Games features more than 50 family clans, Scottish dancing performances, and music showcasing the local Scottish heritage, while the Asian Festival brings awareness to the culture, traditions, and history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, including dragon boat races.

Reservations or purchased tickets, clan tents and other sponsorships, competition registration, or camping will be automatically transferred to 2021, unless other arrangements are made.
