Go for baroque at Davidson College Presbyterian

Starting off  in the Lingle Chapel and then moving into the sanctuary of Davidson College Presbyterian Church with its Wicks organ, Dr. Elizabeth Harrison kicks off Organ at Davidson’s 13th series season with a program titled “Around Bach”  Sept. 17. It features music by Boehm, Buxtehude, Walter, Krebs, and Bach.

The event gets under way at 7:30 p.m. at DCPC at 100 N.Main Street in Davidson.  A meet-the-artist reception by Friends of the Organ follows the program.  Performances are free with donations appreciated to enhance the series. Harrison is a music professor at Pfeiffer University and a board member for several American Guild of Organist chapters.  She earned bachelor’s degrees from Duke University and Southern College, a Master of Music from New England Conservatory, and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Stanford University.

Performances are free, with donations gratefully accepted.
