Funeral for ‘Gabby’ Henderson, how to help

Feb. 26 By Tonya Rivens. Family and friends of Gabriel “Gabby” Henderson said their farewells at Wayne Russell Funeral Home during a 2 pm funeral service yesterday.

The 25-year-old mother of five was accidentally shot at her home on Meridian Street on Monday, Feb. 15.

A large crowd paid tribute during the visitation. COVID-19 restrictions only allowed 50 people to attend the home-going service that followed. The family is grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.

Needs for the children:

Clothes & shoes
10 yr old, shoe size 9, wears size 14-16
5 yr old, shoe size 12
3 yr old, shoe size 11
2 yr old, shoe size 7
1 yr old, shoe size 3 wears 24 months
(Two are in diapers, size 6 and wipes are needed)
Learning tablets for the 5 yr. old and 3 yr. old
Toddler table and chairs
Gift cards for groceries and food

Donations can be delivered to the Neighborhood Care Center, 19711 Smith Circle.

The family is also working with community leaders and professionals to establish an education foundation for the children. A GoFundMe account has raised more than $13,000.
