As the temperatures cool down, the excitement heats up at the NHRA’s best battle for supremacy at the Bellagio of drag strips during the fourth race of the NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship. 7th Annual Laketoberfest

Live music. Beer from local breweries. Food trucks. Kid’s zone with crafts and games. 4-9 pm Saturday Oct. 12 at Bailey Road Park, 11536 Bailey Road.  Free admission and parking. Proceeds benefit Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists.

Mooresville Weiner Race

The Mooresville Wiener Race is an event organized and presented by Downtown Mooresville in which all entrants are required to be classified as a Dachshund breed to be eligible to participate. Contests for “Cutest” and “Best Dressed” also award trophies. Spectators welcome!

Sheldon’s K-9 Festival

Lake Norman Fall Cleanup

Help clean up Lake Norman on Saturday! Every year, volunteers spend a cool Saturday morning removing thousands of pounds of trash from all around the lake.  This is a wonderful opportunity to clean up the islands and shoreline after the summer boating season.

Organ at Davidson

The North Carolina Baroque Orchestra will bring an interesting and unique program to Organ at Davidson on Oct14th at 7:30 pm.  The two Baroque violins and cello will be joined by a small, portable pipe organ with one rank of pipes in historic style.
