Nov. 9. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 1,243 new cases of the coronavirus statewide, as well as a 5.9 percent positivity rate statewide.

Hospitalizations

The NCDHHS reported statewide hospitalizations at 1,097 today, up from 1,040 yesterday.

Deaths

The NCDHHS today reported 19 new COVID-related deaths statewide. In Mecklenburg, today was the fifth straight reporting day with a single COVID death.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 182 new cases and one new death in today’s NCHDDS report. The Mecklenburg 14-day positive test rate was 5.3 percent.

North Mecklenburg (change from Monday)

• Cornelius: 5 new cases, 4,046 cumulative total, 31 deaths cumulative total.

• Davidson: 2 new cases, 2,356 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.

• Huntersville: 4 new cases, 8,875 cumulative total, 74 deaths cumulative total.
