Nov. 17. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 2,171 new cases of the coronavirus statewide. The statewide positive test rate fell to 6.1 percent, from 7.8 percent yesterday.
The Mecklenburg County positivity rate averaged 5.5 percent over the past 14 days.
There have been no new COVID-19 deaths in North Mecklenburg for more than two weeks.
Hospitalizations
Today’s NCDHHS report put statewide hospitalizations at 1,049.
Deaths
The NCDHHS today also reported 52 new COVID-related deaths statewide for a total of 18,514 since the outbreak began in early 2020.
Mecklenburg
In Mecklenburg County, the NCDHHS reported 204 new cases between yesterday and today as well as four new deaths
North Mecklenburg (change from Tuesday)
• Cornelius: 1 new case, 4,071 cumulative total, 31 deaths cumulative total.
• Davidson: 1 new case, 2,372 cumulative total, 19 deaths cumulative total.
• Huntersville: 12 new cases, 8,943 cumulative total, 74 deaths cumulative total.
