COVID-19 update Sept. 15: Two new deaths in N. Meck

Sept. 15. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 7,277 new cases of the coronavirus statewide, as well as 100 new deaths statewide. There was one new death in Cornelius, as well as one new death in Huntersville.

Hospitalizations

The NCDHHS said hospitalizations slipped to 3,630 statewide, down from 3,690 yesterday. Twenty-six percent are in adult ICU.

NC deaths

A total of 15,405 North Carolinians have died from the coronavirus.

Testing

Positive tests are at 11.9 percent statewide.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 677 new cases from Tuesday to today, and nine new COVID-related deaths, including the two in Cornelius and Huntersville. The county-wide 14-day positive test rate is 11.6 percent.

North Mecklenburg (change from Tuesday)

Cornelius: 12 new cases, 3,685 cumulative total, 28 deaths total.

Davidson: 13 new cases, 2,146 cumulative total, 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 28 new cases, 7,983 cumulative total, 61 deaths total.
