Aug. 25. The NC Dept. of Health & Human Services today reported 6,130 new cases of the coronavirus statewide, as well as 60 new deaths statewide. Hospitalizations climbed yet again, to 3,503 statewide.

On June 25, a total of 427 North Carolinians were hospitalized due to COVID-19.

NC deaths

A total of 14,212 North Carolinians have died from the coronavirus, according to today’s NCDHHS report.

Testing

Positive tests are at 13.5 percent statewide. The goal is 5 percent or less.

Mecklenburg

In Mecklenburg County, there were 554 new cases from Tuesday to today, and six new COVID-related deaths. The county-wide positive test rate is 13 percent.

North Mecklenburg (change from Tuesday)

Cornelius: 20 new cases, 3,365 cumulative total, 26 deaths total.

Davidson: 1 new case, 1,960 cumulative total, 15 deaths total.

Huntersville: 45 new cases, 7,256 cumulative total, 55 deaths total.
