UPDATED: Costly food trailer stolen from Bruster’s

Bruster’s trailer is missing

June 20. [Update June 22] A distinctive enclosed trailer wrapped with the Bruster’s Ice Cream and Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs logos has been stolen from a parking spot in Kenton Place.

Stuart Modeen, owner of the franchise at 17029 Kenton Drive, said the 14-foot trailer was stolen sometime early Sunday morning.

UPDATE: Cornelius Police say the trailer was found near the corner of Orlando and Franklin in the near Graham in Charlotte. “No one was around and to date a suspect has not been identified.”

Valued at between $15,000 and $20,000, the trailer is one of four owned by the business and used for off-site catering and events.

    • I live in Redcliffe at Kenton Place and on the same night/morning this was stolen, my car was broken into. There was nothing taken (not really anything of value in it) but they were clearly looking for something in the glove compartment and center console. Everything was thrown out and in disarray. (Perhaps looking for a gun, money, or prescription or something?)

The Redcliffe apartment manager informed me that on the same night as these occurrences, the office alarm system was sounded off but nothing was messed with.

Surely these are related as they occurred on the same night within 100 yards from each other.
