Cornelius girl receives DAR essay award

Feb. 14. The Alexandriania Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution  awarded  Bailey Middle School 8th-grader Josephine Ferrari from Cornelius the District 3 First Place Winner for the American History Essay Contest.

The topic was the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” in conjunction with the 100th Anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, Virginia.

Josephine was awarded certificates, a bronze medal and $50.
