Chicken Salad Chick is opening a new restaurant in Cornelius, marking its 21st location in North Carolina and sixth in the Charlotte metro area.

Chicken Salad Chick is known for its variety of made-from-scratch chicken salad flavors, fresh sides, soups, sandwiches, and desserts. The new Cornelius restaurant offers in-restaurant dining, take-out, third-party delivery, and catering options.

The restaurant is in Magnolia Plaza near Publix and will open at 10:30 a.m. on March 10. The first 100 guests in line will receive free chicken salad for a year. The first guest will receive one free large serving per week for a year, while the next 99 will receive one free large serving per month for a year. Customers must remain in line and download the company’s app to qualify.

Additional promotions are planned throughout opening week, including giveaways for tote bags, free entrees and commemorative cups for the first 50 customers who make qualifying purchases on select days.

The Cornelius location is operated by Sing Bev Hospitality, which owns and operates 20 Chicken Salad Chick restaurants across North and South Carolina. The group opened its first Charlotte-area location in 2014.

Co-franchise owner Julie Beville said the Lake Norman community has long been a target for expansion.

Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
