Bartaco opens in Birkdale Village

Bartaco opens in Brikdale Village

Feb. 21. By Dave Yochum. The Birkdale Village menu change is closer to completion with Bartaco opening up for dinner service tonight.

Known for upscale street food, coastal vibe and specialty cocktails, Bartaco’s 3,400 square foot location has a key spot in the old Corkscrew Wine Shoppe, which never reopened after being forced to move.

Background

Changes in the past year include the expansion of Eez Fusion, the opening of The Cheesecake Factory and the relocation and expansion of Brixx Wood Fired Pizza.

Next up are the new Fin & Fino in the former Dressler’s space—also from Jon Dressler’s Rare Roots Hospitality restaurant group—and a fifth location for Foxcroft Wine, a full-service restaurant offering small plates designed to be shared and an extensive selection of wines. Suffolk Punch Brewing is expected to go in a standalone building directly across Brikdale Commons Parkway from Bartaco.

Coastal vibe

Bartaco offers freshly prepared tacos as well as handmade guacamole, ceviche, tuna poke, rice bowls and specialty cocktails crafted with fresh-squeezed juices.

The space is decorated with handmade basket lights, blue and white nautical accents and plant life.

Fin & Fino

Fin & Fino will open Wednesday, Feb. 28. The “social seafood house” menu showcases small plates including fresh seafood, high-quality meats, house made pastas, and locally grown produce, plus an inventive and expansive cocktail program. The 5,200-square-foot space will seat over 200 guests including the dining room, bar area, and newly renovated outdoor patio. Reservations can be booked online.
