What’s Closed on Labor Day?

You can hold off on wheeling out those trash cans today. Here’s a list of businesses and services that are closed or operating on a modified schedule in observance of Labor Day.

Closures and service changes

• Cornelius Town Hall: Closed Monday, Sept. 7.
• Garbage and recycling: No collection Monday. Service will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.
• Mecklenburg County government offices: Closed Monday, Sept. 7.
• Police, fire and emergency services: Emergency services remain available.
• U.S. Postal Service: No regular mail delivery or retail service Monday.
• Schools: No classes Monday in observance of Labor Day.
• Banks: Most banks will be closed Monday.
• Grocery stores and gas stations: Most will maintain normal hours, although individual locations may vary.
