Regatta Island Mansion Sells for Record Price
Cornelius has a new record for the highest home sale price.
The home at 20221 Regatta Island Drive closed June 15 for $15.25 million in cash, according to MLS records. It hit the market in April with an also record-setting listing price of $18.999 million. The price was reduced two weeks later to $17.9 million and again to $15.9 million on May 10. The listing agent announced June 1 that the property was under contract.
The buyer’s name was not announced and as of Thursday afternoon the deed was not yet been recorded in Mecklenburg County.
The estate features a six-bedroom, nine-bathroom residence spanning more than 12,000 square feet on about 3 acres, according to online data.
Built in 2024, the property sits on a private peninsula-style lot with extensive shoreline and luxury amenities, including a pool, dock and high-end finishes.
The property last sold as vacant land in 2021 for about $4.35 million before being developed into the current estate.
MLS records show the previous highest recorded home sale in Cornelius was the $11.5 million purchase of 16716 Belle Isle Drive in 2024. A home at 16700 Tinker Place sold for $8.7 million in 2024.
